Well maybe not..................

Well, maybe we are not back to ourselves yet. Hunter started wheezing again today. I gave him a neb tonight and that seemed to help. Hopefully this is nothing ... we we will keep our fingers crossed.

We had a nice Christmas here. It was the most relaxing Christmas we have had in a long time. We never left the house. Hayden was in all his glory helping open Hunter and Harrison's gifts, then he was a able to spend the rest of the day playing with his gifts. I think the hits were the Indiana Jones whip and the CSI Crime Scene kit. Harrison's favorite gift was for sure his vac cum, he was too funny walking around the living room vacuuming. Hunter, he is excited to enjoy the massages he got.

Back to Normal

So between cold cold weather and a ton of snow, I have about had enough. Remind me again why I live in Wisconsin?????

Well, our house is back to normal, of what we call normal. Hunter is all recovered. I told him the next time he wanted more attention he just needs to tell me. I am so proud of him. Hopefully the rest of the winter will be uneventful.

Hayden, on the other hand, is so excited for Santa he can't stand it anymore. These next two nights are going to be hard one for him. We are staying home all day Christmas day. I am really looking forward to spending time with the boys and not having any place to be. I can't wait to see what the hit is this year.

Harrison is doing good too. He is getting so funny at times. It is amazing how much he has grown the last month. Last night Hayden left his shoes laying on the kitchen floor, Harrison picked them up and put them by the door. What a nice brother, he better stop that now or Hayden will try to make him do it all the time ; ) Harrison's new favorite toys seem to be cars, and the little puppy you pull behind you. Last night he was walking the dog from the living room to the kitchen, back and forth. It was priceless.

Quick Update

Just thought I would post a quick update. Hunter is off the O2. This is great news!! Now, the only thing is he keeps retching and I am not sure why, so his nurse Joyce is going to call the Dr. today and see what he thinks. Hopefully it is just a mater of upping his meds a little.

Hayden is so ready for Christmas he can barely stand it anymore. We have the tree all up and decorated so he thinks it is time for Santa to come now. He has his Christmas program at Church on Sunday, so we are looking forward to that.

Mr. Harrison is good, growing like a weed. Still a little hot headed. His new thing is if you tell him No, or take something away from him he is not suppose to have, he will look at you, chatter back at you and walk away. If you ask him to come by you, he will walk the other way, like Ha, I'll show you.

So, hopefully we are going to go back to uneventful in the Woldt household. Happy Holidays.

Ho Ho Ho....

What I want to know is who ordered all this snow!! They are saying we are suppose to get up to 14 inches by tomorrow afternoon! This is NUTS!!

Well, anyways. Hunter has turned the corner, and things are calming down in the Woldt house hold. I picked up the boys Christmas pictures and I am very happy with them. You can tell, Hunter was not to in to taking pictures this day, but that is OK, you are going to have that sometimes. : )

It is pretty crazy how much bigger Hayden is than Hunter in this picture. They are both standing. Hard to believe Hayden is going to be 5 and Hunter is going to be 7. Yes, and Hunter is not happy, if you couldn't tell : )

Brotherly Love

It amazes me as I watch the love among my little boys. Hayden amazes me with how loving and compassionate he is toward Hunter. The other night he wanted to get his Dr outfit out to play. Before I knew it he was in Hunter's room playing Dr. He was checking his temp, and then he looked at me and said, "Mom, Hunter is really sick.. I better give him a shot so he gets better." WOW. I continue to pray that as he gets older, his compassion and understanding that his brother is "different" and that is OK, remains.



Then there is the little Harrison that wants to get right in the thick of it too. He saw Hayden put the stethoscope around his neck, so he thought he should put something around his neck too. What a guy

This Too Will Pass

Well, Tuesday was another horrible day. Hunter was still working so hard to breathe. We went to see the pediatrician and he increased his meds and gave him a stronger neb. By last night it appears he is turning the corner. He looks soooo much better! I had to email his Dr and tell him it just took the right Dr to give him the right meds.

This event was a big eye opener for me. I have been very blessed with Hunter being so healthy, considering. I have made the decision as a parent to pull him out of school. We have an IEP next week and we will see what happens, but I had to step back and think about school vs health. I just have to go with my gut as a mom.

So, that has been the news in our house this week. Right or wrong, selfish or not, I have to do what I think is right for him.

A Few Rough Day's

Well, it was a tough weekend at our house. Hunter woke up Saturday morning wheezing. I gave him a neb and it seemed to help a little, but in no time he was wheezing worse and his stats started to descend. I called his nurse Joyce and she stopped over to take a look. Well, a call to the doctor on call, and we were headed to the ER. Let's just say I was NOT impressed by the Dr. on call, but that is besides the point.

Once we arrived at Theda's ER, they did a chest X-ray and told us what we already knew, Hunter had pneumonia. I felt so bad for him, he was working so hard to breathe. They gave him a kicked up neb, some steroids, and prescribed an antibiotic. They originally wanted to admit him, but I was able to get them to order us some O2 and we picked up the prescriptions and headed home.

Hunter slept like a log on Saturday night. So, I thought we caught things in time... but Sunday he was just trying to test mom. I should not complain because he is so healthy, considering, but this is the worst I have ever seen him, respiratory wise. My poor little man. Finally, Sunday night he started to turn the corner. His nurse Joyce spent the night because she was worried about our little man, I thank her sooooo much for that.

Yesterday we were able to decrease the O2 and he rested most of the day. We are still giving him nebs, but overall I think we have turned the corner. I told him if he needed some special attention he could just tell me. ; ) It has been a rough winter so far, so hopefully the worst is over.
